National Center for Application
of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) System is designed to
work with states and organizations applying science-based prevention
technologies that work. It's mission is to bring research to practice.
It consists of six regional CAPTs, all funded by the Center
for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP).
body of knowledge and experience learned by the CSAP provides
clear and convincing evidence that prevention of substance abuse
works. To the fullest extent which resources allow, each CAPT
is charged with providing technical assistance and training to
the states throughout its own region, with special priority on
those states receiving a State
Incentive Grant (SIG).
